Cakes and Ale - Viva Viva la Musica - Siyahamba - Over the Rainbow - Lean on Me

This photo was Andrew giving his seal of approval to the Horsforth Choral Society. Last night he spoke to us from his music room and played  piano to Viva la Musica while daughter Elinor waved and sang and we dutifully beautifully sang in canon. So maybe we can think the thumbs up is for us too. Especially as we also went on to sing his arrangement of Over the Rainbow.

Elinor started with the Purcell Cakes and Ale canon, teaching us the last line, and after working on Andrew's two pieces, she taught us the Zulu song, Siyahamba. She's recorded sung tracks for that one and Rainbow and we'll be able to use these soon.

Anne gave us some detail about how we can video and sound record Sylvie, a project we can shape up over the next few weeks. Anne is making backing tracks and will have more to say, including about the body percussion element.

And we closed a busy session (no wine break!) with Lean on Me that Anne brought us last week, again using the recorded four part arrangement (now on Chorovino dropbox site).
